Hi there!

My name is Mark Ranson, I am 26 years old and I am a highly inspired, motivated artist, passionate about creating 3D animation, Games and arch viz. Currently on the road to an exciting career in the games industry as a Senior Environment Artist at Rocksteady ltd. My passion lies within creating all forms of digital art including film, adverts and product visualisation. Always looking to learn new software, improve my skillset and go on new adventures. Education

2007 – 2010         University of Hertfordshire, First BA Honours in 3D animation 

This course was vital to my education, teaching me from basics to mastery over all forms of 3D design including high-quality modelling, lighting, shading, rigging, animation, film and game development. I left the course in 2010 with an award winning short animation called “Nights of May” and a 1st level Degree BA Honours in 3D animation

Experience

Eurocom Entertainment Software Games developer

May 2010 –  September 2012

  • “Goldeneye wii”    –   Hired as a junior in 2010 where I created 100+ in game assets, level collision, basic lighting, basic level design and for a short period managed prop development
  • “Disney universe”    –   as full environment artist, overlooking and creating entire levels from start to finish including assets/props and collision throughout game (all platforms)
  • Goldeneye: Reloaded”   –   Credited in as additional support (xbox, ps3)
  • Harry Potter kinect”   –  in charge of level design/development creating entire stages start to finish, including creating assets/props throughout game (xbox kinect)
  • “James Bond: Legends” – Environment/Prop artist
